Eureka - Democracy on Trial

Date of Event:
Sat, 16/05/2015

BottledSnail Productions, as part of Law Week 2015
presented by the Victoria Law Foundation, is producing two performances of
Eureka: Democracy on Trial in the Bendigo Supreme Court.

The show was performed by a cast of barristers in the
Banco Court in March to great acclaim. It is a scripted reenactment of the 1855
trial for treason of Timothy Hayes, one of the 13 men accused of treason
following the events of the Eureka Stockade in 1854.

The same cast will be performing the show in Bendigo on
Saturday 16 May, at 11am and 2.30pm.

We are looking for a law student (male or female) to play
the role of tipstaff. The role mainly involves showing witnesses in and out of
the court room during the performance, but there is also a small speaking part
involved. You would need to be available for a couple of evening rehearsals, as
well as being able to travel to Bendigo for the whole day on Saturday 16 May
(transport can be arranged).
